In Yakten village ,most of the inhabitants are belongs from Limboo community also from Buddhist and Hindu religion . Socio economical value is dependent on organic cultivation and dairy firming recently tourism is a new addition in yakten village.
Food and Cuisine ::
Mouth watering fresh organic local cuisine will surely full fill your appetite . The people of Sikkim are mostly rice caters with different type of veg and non veg curry ,dal, soup , pickle ,local organic vegetable dishes . Above this regular cuisine one can also try some local dishes like MoMo,Thuppa, Gunruk saup,Gurkha Chatni etc.
Climate ::
Yakten village is the destination which perfect for almost all season.
Summer season : Summer is mild with maximum temperature never crossing 24 °C. The pleasant climate attracts lots of tourists during this season.
Monsoon or Rainy season : Monsoon are accompanied with intense rain. Lasting from July to August, in monsoon colorful cloud create a panoramic attraction at this hamlet.
Winter season: Winters in Yakten are pretty extreme with temperatures hovering between 12 °C to 4 °C, though it is one of the best time to visit .
What to wear : As the temperature is really chilling even in summer also, tourist should carry light woolen clothes for summer and heavy woolen clothes for winter.
